Largest Toys for Tots drive in Chapter History
Basil Karampelas once again led the Chapter in its annual toy drive. Boxes were place throughout Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, toys were gathered at the annual Holiday party (attended by over 15 brothers and their spouses) and over $300 was donated to purchase toys. In the end over 200 toys were donated to our local Toys for Tots organization. Thank you to everyone for your generosity in making a special Christmas for children in need.

Fall Events of Pancake Breakfast and Cabin Fever Great Successes
On October 19th the Chapter 519 Brotherhood held their annual Pancake breakfast at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church. As usual, Brother Harry and the kitchen staff prepared a delicious meal of bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, grits, and pancakes. The hit of the show was the baklava pancakes with a hint of cinnamon added this year to spice it up. The event had lines out the door with over 90 guests served. Tickets sales and generous contributions generated enough revenue to fund one of the Chapter’s annual scholarships. Thanks to everyone for the support.
Also, November 7-9 was the annual Cabin Fever held in the Kollias “Lodge” in Mineral Bluff, GA. Nine brothers (Ron Sprouse, Zack Kollias, Harry Kipreos, Steve Kipreos, Dennis Christopher, Mike Kostas, Kyle Renz, Peter Tiller and Olen Bruce) were in attendance. A great dinner and bonfire were held on Friday evening. On Saturday, brothers split up during the day to hike, shoot and gamble; returning in the evening for a steak dinner and poker. Sunday Vesper service and a great breakfast concluded the weekend before everyone headed home. Some action photos from the event can be seen below.
Next up is the Fellowship Dinner hosted by AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter #1 on November 20 for the benefit of the AHEPA Chapter #1 Mother Lodge Educational Fund. After that is Chapter 519’s annual Toys for Tots drive and Christmas party hosted by Basil Karampelas on December 14.
