12th Annual Scholarship Game Night a Great Success

On February 22, the Brothers of AHEPA Chapter 519 once again held their 12th Annual Scholarship Game Night. Over 100 people attending the event enjoyed a full bar with a beef tenderloin and salmon dinner and all the accoutrements. After satisfying their hunger and thirst, the attendees adjourned to play casino style games before returning for prize drawings at the end of the evening.

This year’s prizes were valued at over $5,000 and included: Braves tickets, a 55″ TV, a surround sound system, Atlanta United tickets and numerous other gift cards and prizes. The night always culminates with the 50/50 Drawing. 2025 was the first year that the contributions to the Drawing exceeded $5,000, so the winner (Kevin Lilly) took home $2,530. Congratulations to all our winners!

As always, the profits of the event go to assist the Chapter’s scholarship efforts through the AHEPA Chapter #1 Mother Lodge Educational Fund. In total, the 12 Game Nights have contributed more than $50K to the Fund. Since its inception in 1986 the Fund has provided over $1.4 million in scholarships to over 1,000 deserving students in the Atlanta Area. Chapter 519 is proud to support the Fund’s efforts.

Thank you to all the Brothers who make the night possible but special thanks to: Harry Kipreos in the kitchen, Dennis Christopher at the Bar, Alex Miltiades/Mike Jacobs and the serving team, Steve Tingas decorations, Olen Bruce for prizes, Angelo Angelakis for 50/50 Drawing, Ron Sprouse for tickets sales, Paul Markley for keeping us organized, and Peter Tiller and Zack Kollias for keeping the night moving.

Lastly thanks to all the guests who choose to spend a Saturday evening supporting scholarship in Atlanta. We could not have done it without you. See you all at the 13th Scholarship Game Night in 2026.
